Madeline Kevelson
I am a Brooklyn-based fashion historian with a focus in costume design and consumer history.
With a decade of costume design experience, I am looking forward to bringing my theatrical perspective to the museum world. I have a passion for in-depth visual research and explore that through my work with The Art Deco Society of New York, where I create educational social media content.
My research interests range from Club Kids to Ziegfeld showgirls and anything in between... primarily those relating to women or queer culture.
I hold a BFA from University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music in Costume Design & Construction and am currently pursuing an MA in Fashion and Textile Studies: History, Theory, and Museum Practice with a focus on curation at FIT.
Outside of my studies I am an occasional freelance stylist and enjoy scrolling through Getty Images or the NYPL Digital Collections.
